From 1910 until the US 77 bridge opened in 1931 vehicular traffic crossed the Red River between Gainesville and Marietta, OK over a toll bridge. Portions of the concrete supports are still visible on both the north and south banks of the river today. The Toll Bridge road has been left in-tact to preserve history as well as used as a functioning roadway on the ranch.
Current view is from Texas looking across the Red River to Oklahoma.
Portions of the Toll Bridge are visible both at the waters’ edge and on the surface.
